According to Jean Schudt's information, Charles' grandfather, Charles (Carl) Ludwig Friedrich Fakenthal, was born 2-10-1835 in Demmin, Pomerin, Prussia and died 6-17-1898 in Chicago. Charles' grandmother, Apolonia Eveline Koch Falkenthal, was born 4-28-1837 in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany, and died 6-28-1899 in Chicago. They are buried in Rosehill cemetery

 

Baptized as a Catholic 3-19-1876 at 19. Married 4-22-1879 in the Church of the Holy Family, Chicago, to Mary Elizabeth Maus. Married 9-12-1894 in St. Martin Church to Maria Christina Klein. Buried St. Boniface.

Obituary for firstborn son, Charles Francis also called Francis Karl, 3-27-1905: Falkenthal, Charles F., March 25, age 23 years, 7 months, beloved son of Charles and Mary Falkenthal, brother of George, John, William, and Coletta Falkenthal. Funeral Tuesday, March 28, at 9:30 o'clock, from late residence, 5809 Princeton-av, to St. Martin's church, thence by carriages to St. Boniface cemetery.
